Day Trip to Keetmanshoop, Namibia

Last week we went to Keetmanshoop on a van, similar to the vans you see all over South Africa and I’m assuming throughout Africa, itself.   It cost us 180 Namibian dollars, which is roughly $15, US, and it took about 3 or 4 hours to get there.   Along the way we saw some interesting things, which I’ll share here in this post.   Keetmanshoop, itself, is just a little desert town, but it’s a stop we needed to make in order to go to Fish River Valley the next day.    Here are some pics of our journey there.  These horses were actually wild horses, just standing by the side of the road.  They live off the shrub grass that is all over the valley floor, although sparse.    It’s deserty, but it’s beautiful.   As Brian, the captain of my ship says, “It’s Africa hot out there!”   🙂

As always, don’t forget to follow the adventure on email by subscribing, or you can follow me on Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Google+, Instagram.
